Variations Of Blackjack: Pontoon And Caribbean 21

Pontoon

The British version of the game of blackjack is called the Pontoon, this variation is nearly as old as the first blackjack. But this Pontoon variation has begun its popularity just recently.

This is a game being played with eight decks of 52-cards. All the cards have an equal value as the blackjack. Every player is being dealt initially with two cards that are both facing up. On the other hand, the dealer is dealt with cards that are facing down. Same with the rules in blackjack, all the players will try to get a total card value of 21 or as close to it as possible.

The dealer will have the chance to check his cards after all the other players have their cards already. If the dealer got the pontoon card, he will display it immediately and wins the game. But if the dealer does not have the pontoon, they will all play on.

Here are the rules according to the game of Pontoon:

- All the players have the chance to stand on any of the five-card hand, of if players have a value of more than 15 or equal.

- All the players have the chance to hit at any time they chooses, this include after they double. Players are allowed to double on two to four cards at hand, but at one time only. This includes after the players split, and another after they split.

- Players have the chance to split the two cards of the same rank and then they may re-split again at one time. They can do this up to three hands only.

- After the player got a bust, he loses.

- The Dealer will compare his cards to each of the players' cards and pay them if they win.

- The Dealer will hit a soft of 17
